We are a small organisation with limited resources and volunteers play a critical role in enabling Down Syndrome Victoria to empower individuals with Down syndrome for a lifetime of meaningful inclusion in the community. The organisation, which began in 1978, was actually started by volunteers.
Volunteering is a way to connect with the local community as well as provide a pathway to personal and skills development. Volunteering is open to people of all ages and individuals with a disability are encouraged to apply.
As a small organisation our volunteer opportunities are limited. Please see more information below.

Please note that at this time we are not recruiting new volunteers for Club21.
Major events
Volunteers are integral to the success of our annual events, helping with set up/pack up, running kids activities, face painting and just being there to give encouragement and support to Down Syndrome Victoria and families and individuals. We have two major annual events.
March 21 is World Down Syndrome Day and to celebrate this we hold the Family Fun Day event annually on the closest Sunday.
StepUP! for Down syndrome
StepUP for Down syndrome is held in October in Melbourne and regional cities Geelong, Bendigo, Wodonga and Horsham.
